S2, S2 tablets | Sony enters tablet market

Sony introduced two new tablets, both of which will be offered with Android 3.0. These devices are called S1 and S2. The first one is created exclusively for multimedia, while the second emphasizes on communication and entertainment. Maybe this is the beginning of tablet series by Sony to take on Apple which is the clear market leader. Pricing and detailed specs are yet to be revealed, while read on to know what we have in hand.


Overview:
Tablets will offer WiFi and 3G/4G connection, access to video games, books in the Playstation Network and more. S1 will have a 9.4 inches display, while S2 will have two 5.5-inch display that can be folded. They can be used as a keyboard and display or together as one large display.

S1 Specs:
It is powered by Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and sports a smooth touch panel user interface with Swift web browser. The S1 has integrated infrared which allows the tablet to be used as remote control for other Sony Gadgets. The tablet supports 3G/4G network and is Wi-Fi enabled. The S1 has a unique 'wrap design' that looks as if a magazine has been folded and the press images clearly show it. In a way, that wrap will proved a bit of an elevation to keep the top part higher for ease of typing over the onscreen keyboard.

S2 Specs:
Also powered by Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, it has dual touchscreen displays each of which is 5.5-inch and supports1024x480 pixel resolution. The S2 tablet supports 3G/4G network and is Wi-Fi enabled. It appears to be a stretched Nintendo DS in a clamshell form factor.
